Around the World in 9 Weeks!
Ages 3-12 welcome to attend our summer camps!
The Spanish Academy is adventuring around the world this summer visiting Spanish speaking countries including: Peru, Nicaragua, Argentina, Colombia, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, Bolivia and Venezuela.
Each week we’ll be learning about a new country and the culture of the people, cool geography, fun history facts, natural resources, famous people and national sports (We’ll be playing lots of soccer games!) We’ll be making nifty art projects that reflect a special aspect of the country we’re visiting! Spanish Academy Summer Campers will start by going through ‘customs’ check and have a passport photo taken! Each week in attendance, students will get an awesome stamp from each Spanish country visited! Proud Spanish Summer Camp travelers will take this souvenir home with them to re-live the fun!
SA teachers work closely with students to improve Spanish speaking, writing and vocabulary skills. SA teachers utilize foreign language acquisition strategies that are known to be effective in teaching a 2nd language. We offer great activities to stimulate learning including: singing with musical instruments, art projects, traditional Latin group games, storytelling and drama. Developing Spanish speaking skills occurs while we’re out caring for the farm animals, hunting for chicken eggs and brushing the horse, taking nature walks and playing parachute games!
