Second language acquisition is much easier when you start at an early age. Children immersed in an atmosphere with comprehensible input acquire the language by understanding what they hear and by having ample opportunities to create the meaning through experiences. It is also important how the language is delivered and by whom. I am pleased with the owner and teacher of the school, Kimberly Houde. Her calm and caring nature make me feel confident in leaving my precious little ones in her charge. My daughter Chloe has attended the Spanish Academy for over two years and will continue in the Fall of 2004. My daughter Callie is excited to start her first year this fall. The Spanish Academy offers a solid preschool curriculum in a wonderful and natural setting while giving the children the advantage of a second language. - Blythe Young, High School Spanish Teacher & Bellevue School District World Languages Curriculum Developer

I have been with the Spanish Academy for nearly two years. It has been a great experience! I am always amazed at the ease by which students learn Spanish. Little ones start in the terrific 2's program developing language skills in Spanish and social skills. As a teacher, I am always thinking of fun ways to present new concepts to the students. Whether we play games or go for a nature walk, the kids are always learning Spanish in fun ways. Seeing the children learn Spanish makes it an extremely rewarding experience. I feel very fortunate to be able to give the children a nurturing, loving, great experience, both in preschool and a second language. - Maestra Luza

My children have been attending school at the Spanish Academy for the past 3 years and they teach me Spanish now! The kids are always so excited when they can teach someone else what they have learned because so many of us do not know Spanish so this added language makes them special. My favorite memory of my children knowing Spanish is when we were on vacation in Mexico. There was a waiter talking to some other guests in Spanish and my son Mateo told me everything they were saying! I really enjoy the environment and the small teacher to child ration which inspires exceptional learning. - Leslie
